Excessively Rare $1 1875 Treasurer's Certificate
Little Rock, AR- State of Arkansas $1 March 13, 1875 Cr. 66The impoverishment of Arkansas after the Civil War made state finances a financial morass, with the state barely skirting bankruptcy on several occasions. This is one of the very scarcest of the post Civil War issues, and one which actually circulated, as the handful of pieces recorded are signed and issued. Shull lists this issue as Rarity-11 (2-4 known), and we have never handled one in any of our previous sales. PMG About Uncirculated 55, a great Arkansas rarity fit for the very finest of collections.
