Description
Bellefonte, AR- House & Capps 50¢ Sep. 4, 1862 Rothert UNL PMG Fine 12.Virtually no information has come to light on this firm, but we assume that it was a merchant partnership of some sort which issued these notes as a means of making change in day-to-day commerce. It was redeemable in Confederate Treasury Notes, State War Bonds, or State Treasury Warrants when presented in sums of $10 or its multiples. The note has margin damage at bottom center and other minor edge roughness. The issuer is unlisted in Rothert and this note is the only example known to us at present.
