Description
Huntsville, AL- James Hickman 25¢ Nov. 1, 1862 Gunther-Derby AO-244-$.25a Fine.We have offered only one other note on this merchant and it was a 10¢ piece in Fine-VF condition that realized $302 in September 2001. Our current 25¢ offering has a vignette of food items, staining on the face, and five archival tape repairs on the back. Gunther-Derby lists only the 10¢, 25¢, and 50¢ denominations for this merchant and each denomination is rated as a R-7, one to five known. Our experience with this rare merchant leads one to believe that the number of surviving notes for each denomination is actually closer to one than five.
Estimate: $275 - up.
