Mobile, AL- Mobile and Great Northern R. R. 25¢ Aug. 1, 1862 PCGS Banknote Very Good 8 Details.
The Mobile and Great Northern Rail Road was chartered on February 15, 1856, and was intended to cover 67 miles total. It would run between a point on the Tensas River 22 miles north of Mobile and a point of connection with the Alabama & Florida Railroad in Pollard, AL. Track was laid beginning in March 1861 and completed in November of that year. A very scarce note, this example does have a piece missing, stains, and edge damage.
