15.E(dward) Goode was the proprietor of the Ashville Hotel. This example represents a design which we have not auctioned previously and which is not listed in any reference material on Alabama notes. This piece was payable in current funds if sums of ten dollars or its multiple were presented. Though the printed details have slightly faded, Goode's signature, as well as the serial numbers, remain boldly penned. PMG comments on a stain at lower left.
