Newly Reported Wisconsin $50 Brown Back
Milwaukee, WI - $50 1882 Brown Back Fr. 508 The National
Exchange Bank Ch. # 1003 PMG Choice Fine 15.A great new addition to the census for The Badger State, as this is just the fifth $50 Brown Back to be reported for Wisconsin, and all from this Milwaukee bank. Of the other four pieces in the National Currency Foundation census, none grade higher than Fine 12, making this newly surfaced offering the finest known. It has had some minor repairs according to PMG, but its colors are quite bold as well as the pen signatures. It also represents the scarcer early variety of Brown Backs with the vertical charter number.
