Description
Ex-Chet Krause De Pere 1902 $10 Red Seal
De Pere, WI - $10 1902 Red Seal Fr. 613 The National Bank of De
Pere Ch. # (M)6469 PMG Choice Uncirculated 64.We last offered this great note from this Brown County bank in our 2016 Long Beach Auction where we said, "A perfectly margined Red Seal with extraordinary eye appeal. It's one of three such examples known from this De Pere bank, with one a circulated piece in an Apparent holder and the other, two serials removed from this example, ensconced in the collection of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. This piece traces its pedigree to the massive Chet Krause collection, where it sold for $8050 eight years ago. While those halcyon days for National prices remain but a dim memory, this is a truly exceptional note which is certain to being a strong price." This piece, which has also received the comment "Great Embossing" from PMG, fetched $4,465 that evening almost eight years ago and is certainly rare and desirable enough to approach that number again.
