Description

One of Three Known

Kenbridge, VA - $5 1902 Plain Back Fr. 609 The First National Bank Ch. # 12251 PMG Very Fine 30.
This is a very rare note from a southern Virginia bank that was only in business from 1922 until its closure just four years later. It issued just $5 Plain Backs and, to date, just three survivors have been reported. That scant total includes this offering which is the only one of known trio to have made a public appearance in over 20 years. It is a bright and crisp note with bold purple stamped signatures. Some minor edge splits in the fold lines have been noted by PMG.
