Newly Reported All Serial Number 1 Utah Uncut Sheet
Serial Number 1 Salt Lake City, UT - $10 1929 Ty. 1 The
Continental National Bank Ch. # 9403 Uncut Sheet PMG About
Uncirculated 55.A wonderful new discovery that is certainly one of the highlights of tonight's auction. According to the National Currency Foundation census, this is just the third Serial Number 1 uncut sheet to be reported from any Utah bank. It is also the first of that trio to appear at public auction since a Type 2 Number 1 $5 sheet on Charter 2059 of Salt Lake City was part of Barney Bluestone's auction of The Albert Grinnell Collection in 1946. This lovely sheet is the only one of the three reported that represents the Type 1 variety with all six notes bearing Serial Number 1. It is a bright, well printed sheet with little evidence of handling and just some minor traces of residue in the margins. This is a great trophy item for either the many Utah collectors or the Number 1 specialists.
