Description

Unique for the Bank

Henrietta, TX - $5 1882 Brown Back Fr. 467 The Henrietta National Bank Ch. # 3022 PMG Very Fine 30.
This great Texas note is a true miracle of survival as it hails from an obscure Clay County issuer that was only in business for four years before failing in August of 1887. Releasing a mere 956 sheets of $5 Brown Backs, this extremely short-lived charter had only $150 outstanding in 1916. The first note to be reported from this charter, it is likely to remain unique for a very long time. Bearing the bold pen signatures of Elisha F. Ikard and James W. T. Gray, this well margined $5 displays excellent color and solid paper. PMG has mentioned minor ink burn which truly affects nothing on a Texas rarity of this caliber.
