Description

Unique for the Bank

Gainesville, TX - $10 1882 Brown Back Fr. 480 The Red River National Bank Ch. # 3229 PMG Very Good 10.
This great north Texas rarity is the only note reported from this short-lived issuer that operated right on the Red River across from the state of Oklahoma. It opened in 1884 and issued Brown Backs only before closing its doors in 1903. To date, this well circulated but intact $10 is the only note in the census from here and it is making its first public appearance since a 1998 auction. Despite the amount of wear, it maintains decent color and clear pen signatures.
