Description

Extremely Scarce $10 Small Size, FNB of Angleton, TX

First National Bank of Angleton, TX, Charter #14204. 1929 $10 Type Two, Fr-1801-2, Choice CU. Boldly embossed and a Gem save for a slightly uneven lower margin. The very scarce FNB of Angleton was one of the last Texas banks to receive a national bank charter, that occurring in June, 1934. A paltry three notes show up in the Kelly census and an example was not in the Irish Collection. The low serial number here, A000007, is far overshadowed by the rarity of this small-only, Brazoria County bank.
