Childress, TX - $20 1882 Value Back Fr. 581 The City NB Ch. # (S)5992This just plain scarce west Texas bank issued large notes only, with this one of just two $20 Value Backs reported from here to date. Excluding the three notes in the Moody Foundation holdings, just four notes are listed in the census, with this piece among that number. The colors are a bit muted and the paper somewhat soft, and, as the photo here discloses, the trim is less than optimal, but if rarity is any guide, expect this Very Good-Fine specimen to see bidding reach the vicinity of...
