Description

Extremely Rare Springfield, SD Note

Springfield, SD - $10 1902 Date Back Fr. 618 The First NB Ch. # (W)8942
An excessively rare note from the only bank in this tiny Bon Homme County location to issue. While the Kelly census shows just one note extant from here, we are aware of two, one of which is impounded in the Higgins Museum. It has been nearly fifteen years since the other example from here was sold, with this offering giving a new generation of South Dakota collectors an opportunity to add a new town to their holdings. Sharp Fine, with good pen signatures and an excellent appearance for the grade.
