Description

Providence, RI - $5 1875 Fr. 401 The Second National Bank Ch. # 565 PMG Very Fine 25.
A scarcer Providence bank that liquidated in 1901 after issuing First Charters and Brown Backs only. This attractive mid-grade 1875 $5 is new to the census, and it features flashy ink colors and bold pen signatures. Of additional interest, this note is from a replacement plate as signified by the tiny star to the immediate left of the plate position "B" at upper left.
