North Providence, RI - $20 1875 Fr. 431 The Slater National Bank Ch. # 856 PMG Very Fine 25.This very attractive example of this scarce type and denomination is the only 1875 $20 reported from this North Providence bank and one of just fifteen such pieces known from all Rhode Island charters. It is an old friend that we last offered in our September 2000 auction and which is making its first public appearance since a 2003 auction. It is nicely margined with bold ink colors, dark signatures, and just even wear.
