Description

Sheridan, OR - $10 1902 Plain Back Fr. 626 The First NB Ch. # 8721
Yet another wonderful note from the Gibson holdings. This is the only large note reported from this exceedingly rare Yamhill County bank, the sole issuer in Sheridan, and a bank with just $550 outstanding in large size by 1935. Most fortunately for collectors, it is a beauty, with an exceptionally vivid blue overprint contrasting with bright white paper, and augmented by lovely blue pen signatures. This Very Fine+ example has everything a collector could want and lots more as well, and with a combination of rarity, grade and desirability like this, expect bidding to easily reach and likely exceed...
From Bill Litt in May of 1993.
