Rare and Lovely State Capital Brown Back
Salem, OR - $10 1882 Brown Back Fr. 482 The Capital National
Bank Ch. # 3405 PMG Very Fine 30.A gorgeous note that is one of only two Brown Backs extant from this capital city bank and by far the nicer of the pair. It bears the first title used by this institution which appeared on its notes from 1885 to 1923. It has the added appeal of being an earlier $10 Brown Back with a vertical charter number on its face, a variety that appeared on less than 15% of all Brown Backs produced. Combine that fact with this offering's wonderful color and overall eye appeal, and we have a real winner of a note.
