Very Rare Morris NB Note One of Three Reported

Morris, OK - $10 1902 Plain Back Fr. 633 The Morris National Bank Ch. # (W)11932 PMG Fine 12.
This great Oklahoma note hails from the one of the most difficult Oklahoma locations from which to obtain a National Bank Note. This Okmulgee County community was the host to two issuers - the First National, which remains unreported, and the Morris National. Only in business from 1921 until 1929, the latter bank issued only a handful of Plain Backs before merging out of existence and leaving an outstanding balance of just $2,350. This offering is one of just three pieces reported and the first of the trio to ever cross the public auction block. It is an evenly circulated $10, displaying decent color, legible stamped signatures, and just honest wear.
