Third Note Reported

Salem, OH - $10 1882 Brown Back Fr. 479 The First NB Ch. # 2691
A new discovery from a short lived Columbiana County bank which issued Brown Backs, Red Seals, and Date Backs only before reassuming its original charter number 43 in 1910. Just two notes are listed in the census, both Red Seals, and only one of those two pieces has ever been publicly offered. Evenly circulated and well margined, this Brown Back becomes the earliest note known from this charter, and it faces up nicely with good color and dark pen signatures. PMG has noted a few pinholes, but they are small and hardly worth mentioning. PMG Very Fine 20.
