Description

Newark, OH - $10 1875 Fr. 419 The First NB Ch. # 858
A lovely type note with great color, full originality, and wonderful eye appeal. The state seal on the reverse is the first of two used on Ohio Nationals. It mirrors the seal adopted when Ohio entered the Union in 1803, which legend has it, was inspired by a sunrise which greeted a group of state officials who had labored all night on business at the capitol. The seal shows a rising sun between mountains, with a sheaf of wheat and a bundle of arrows in the foreground. PCGS Choice About New 58PPQ.
