Charlotte, NC - $5 Original Fr. 399 The Merchants & Farmers NB Ch. # 1781A beautiful First Charter North Carolina note which is in extraordinary condition for its type. This is one of only eight Original fives from all banks in the state combined, and it certainly ranks as one of the very finest of any in the census. The colors are spectacular and the note displays only the barest traces of any real circulation. The only detraction at all worthy of mention is two tiny nicks in the right margin which affects nothing. Very Fine-Extremely Fine, a rarity worthy of a place of honor in any serious North Carolina collection.
