Description

First Ever Public Offering

Wyoming, NY- $20 1929 Ty. 1 The NB of Wyoming Ch. # 13229
A truly rare small size note from the only bank to issue in this Wyoming County community, meaning that this is the very first opportunity for the collecting public to add this town to their holdings. While the census shows two uncut sheets and two single notes extant from here, we are unaware of the whereabouts of the sheets, and know that the other single note has been ensconced in a major New York collection for the better part of two decades. Although chartered in 1928, this bank elected to issue small notes only, and for whatever reason opted to order twenties only, issuing them in minute quantities, making its total issue amongst the lowest in the state. If you are a serious collector of New York notes, or of rarities from any state, this is a note you should make every effort to obtain. Nice Fine-Very Fine.
