Watkins, NY - $20 Original Fr. 424 The Second National Bank Ch. # 456 PMG Very Fine 20.Original Series twenties are truly scarce and undervalued, as the National Bank Note Census enumerates only about 250 examples extant from all banks in the country combined. Thirty-three of those come from New York State, with the vast majority of that total coming from New York City issuers. This piece, from the Second National Bank of Watkins, is the sole $20 First Charter known from this Yates County community. Dick obtained this piece so long ago that it lacks any prior auction record in any census, but fortunately for collectors, it displays great eye appeal and is flawless for the grade.
