Description

Utica, NY - $10 1875 Fr. 416 The Oneida National Bank Ch. # 1392 PMG Choice Very Fine 35.
A beautiful First Charter ten which displays the striking blue end paper used for several years by the Treasury as an anti-counterfeiting device. Dick was fortunate enough to have obtained this note from the special Utica section (Donlon was a Utica native) in Bill's Research & Personal Collection sale of May, 1971, where it was lot 506. Bill graded it as "Very Fine plus," and here he was right on the money, as fifty years later PMG graded it "Choice Very Fine 35." As a bonus, it bears the pen signatures of R.S. Williams as Cashier and A.J. Williams as V. President.
