Description

Saranac Lake, NY - $5 1929 Ty. 1 The Saranac Lake NB Ch. # 8935
A great new discovery from this obscure Franklin County issuer that now has a mere five small size in the census with its large size notes still unreported. This was the second, and considerably scarcer, charter in this small hamlet nestled deep within New York's Adirondack Mountains. It survived the note issuing era, but according to the Dillistin reference, merged out of existence shortly thereafter in 1940. Even wear and crisp, original surfaces are the highlights of this PCGS Very Fine 25PPQ $5 which is the first note from this bank to be publicly offered anywhere in six years.
