Port Leyden, NY - $5 1902 Plain Back Fr. 607 The Port Leyden NB Ch. # 11742A very rare note from a truly scarce bank. A miniscule $360 remained outstanding in large notes from this one bank Lewis County location in 1935, with the census showing just three large examples, with this piece last trading hands in our Sabis collection offering in 2003. It realized $3450, the same as the considerably lower grade Bergin holdings example when we sold it in 2007. Expect a similar realization tonight for this evenly circulated PCGS Very Fine 20 note.
