Painted Post, NY - $5 1902 Plain Back Fr. 607 The Painted Post
National Bank Ch. # 11956 PMG Very Fine 25.This great note from New York's Southern Tier area is one of just four large size reported from this Steuben County bank. Bearing one of the more colorful town names to be found on a note from New York State (which was derived from a Native American post found by explorers at the junction of three local rivers), this bank was only in business from 1921 until its liquidation in 1933. One of the quartet of large size in the census, this $5 exhibits just even, problem free wear.
