Description

Low Serial Number 3 New York, NY - $10 1882 Brown Back Fr. 490 The New Amsterdam National Bank Ch. # 5783 PMG About Uncirculated 55.
This beautiful note comes from a short lived New York City bank that issued Brown Backs only during its seven years in operation, with most all of the reported examples carrying low serial numbers. This piece made its last public appearance in a 1994 auction where it was offered with a group of newly-surfaced low serial number notes from other New York City banks. It is a brilliantly colored and well embossed piece with low serial number 3 as a bonus. If not for some pinholes, it would have certainly garnered the EPQ designation from PMG.
