Fishkill, NY - $1 Original Fr. 380 The NB of Fishkill Ch. # 971
An extremely rare note from the only bank to issue in this historic Dutchess County hamlet. This institution issued First Charters only before disappearing in 1877, with just five notes comprising the complete Kelly census. We sold a Very Fine ace from here in our September, 2003 auction for $9200 (against a pre-sale estimate of $3500-6500) and a substantially lower grade ace from here a year later for $3450. This example, newly discovered and offered here for the first time, is as nice or nicer than any reported previously. Very Fine+++, a significant addition to any collection of mid-Hudson Valley material.
