Catskill, NY - $5 1875 Fr. 401 The Tanners National Bank Ch. # 1198 PMG Very Fine 20 Net.A scarce early note from an otherwise common Greene County bank, with this one of only three First Charters known. All three notes are Series 1875 $5s and that includes this pretty note which was harshly assigned a net grade for a couple of minor edge tears and a small contemporary annotation on the back. This Catskill bank with a great trade name traces its roots back to 1831 and it remained an independent entity until 1972.
