Elizabeth, NJ - $5 Original Fr. 397a The National State Bank Ch. # 1436 PMG Very Fine 25 Net.A rare early note from this Union County institution that is a popular bank due to the demand from the collectors of "first name" towns. This offering is one of only three First Charter notes reported from here, and the only Original Series $5. PMG has noted some restoration, but otherwise, it is a bright and attractive note with a vibrant red overprint and bold pen signatures.
