Description

Very Rare Chinook, MT Small Size - One of Two Reported
First Public Offering Since 1995

Chinook, MT - $10 1929 Ty. 1 The First National Bank Ch. # 6097 PMG Very Fine 20.
While merely very scarce in large size, this Blaine County bank is excessively rare in small, undoubtedly due to the fact that it liquidated in April of 1930 and was absorbed by the Farmers National in town. Just two Series 1929 examples are reported from here - both $10s - one of which has never appeared at public sale. The other known piece, which we are offering this evening, has been off the market since a 1995 auction. Fortunately for collectors, it is a solid, well margined note exhibiting just even wear. It provides an opportunity for the Montana collectors to finally obtain a small size note from this very rare charter.
