Description

One of Two Reported Jefferson City Aces

Jefferson City, MO - $1 Original Fr. 382a The National Exchange Bank Ch. # 2055 PMG Very Good 10.
This is an excessively rare note from, by far, the rarest of this capital city bank's three issuers. The National Exchange was only in business for seven years from 1872 until 1879 and, to date, just two notes are reported - both Original Series Aces - neither of which has ever appeared at public sale. The finer of the two known examples, this Ace features just plenty of honest wear and retains good color and clear pen signatures. As this charter was the only bank in Jefferson City to issue this denomination, this offering presents a unique opportunity for a collector to acquire an Ace from this capital city.
