Tupelo, MS - $20 1882 Date Back Fr. 549 The First National Bank
Ch. # (S)4521 PMG Very Fine 25.A great Mississippi rarity, this is the only Second Charter note reported from the sole issuer in Lee County. Tupelo, of course, is world famous as the birthplace of Elvis Presley who is commemorated in this community with numerous statues. Tonight's offering is one of just four pieces reported from this short-lived issuer with the other three known notes all from the Third Charter Period. This well margined $20 is as pretty as it is rare with excellent color and just even, moderate wear. This note is certain to appeal to anyone who appreciates rare Nationals as well as, potentially, fans of the "The King" as well.
