Collins, MS - $10 1902 Date Back Fr. 619 The First National Bank
Ch. # (S)9728 PMG Choice Fine 15.This great Mississippi rarity recently surfaced and is being offered to the collecting fraternity for the first time. It hails from the only bank to issue in rural Covington County, a charter that was only in business from 1910 until 1914 and which issued a mere 529 sheets of $10 Date Backs. The emergence of this piece finally provides an opportunity for collectors of this Deep South state to acquire a note from this heretofore unreported bank and town. It is a pleasing, evenly circulated note with nice color for the grade and clear stamped signatures.
