Description

Very Rare Tracy Note

Tracy, MN - $10 1902 Date Back Fr. 623 The First NB Ch. # (M)4992
This was the only National Bank in Tracy, a small community in Lyon County in the far western reaches of the state. Only large notes were issued from this bank, with the census standing at only four. Two of that number have long been impounded, with this piece and the Melamed collection example the only two ever to have been available at public sale. The Melamed note was a VF $20 Brown Back which fetched an astounding $26,450 when it sold in 2010, while this note has been in the Sem collection since he obtained it (at a far more reasonable price we might add) from our November, 1992 CAA sale. Pen signed PMG Very Fine 25, with a small inked line on the front that is barely worthy of mention.
