Hadley Falls National Bank Ch. # 1246 PMG Very Fine 25.This is an attractive Serial Number 1 $5 Brown Back from this long-lived Holyoke bank that got its start as the Hadley Falls bank in 1851. It is one of just ten Number 1 $5 Brown Backs reported from all Massachusetts banks and it is being publicly offered for the first time. Likely carried as a treasured wallet piece by a proud bank officer, it does have some repairs and splits, but it faces up quite nicely with bold ink colors and dark pen signatures.
