Lynn, MA - $5 Original Fr. 397b The National City Bank Ch. # 697 PMG Extremely Fine 40.This is a great new addition to the census of this long-lived Essex County bank that opened its doors in 1865 and survived the entire note-issuing period. The first First Charter Five to be reported from this institution, it is a lightly circulated, pen signed note with an appealing bank title layout. The overall appearance is quite pleasing despite some minor repairs and the fact that the Treasury serial number at top right has faded.
