Description

Fitchburg, MA- $100 Original Fr. 454 The Fitchburg NB Ch. # 1077
A great note from the Midwest collection. This piece was last offered as lot 4103 of the famed Albert A. Grinnell collection, sold by Barney Bluestone from 1944 through 1946. It is a lovely, untouched, unrestored, and totally original example of a type that, combining Original and 1875 examples from every state and territory, numbers only 73 pieces. It is the only $100 First Charter known from this bank, or, for that matter, from any bank in Worcester County. Bright, pretty, and problem free, it is the perfect note to represent this rare type in any state or type set. Fine+.
