Description

Spectacular Serial Number 2 National Suffolk Bank Red Seal

Boston, MA - $5 1902 Red Seal Fr. 587 The National Suffolk Bank Ch. # (N)6104
A spectacular new discovery combining the ultimate in rarity with fantastic eye appeal. This Red Seal only bank lasted barely a year before closing its doors forever in October of 1903, leaving behind no signs of its short and tenuous existence save for one Red Seal that is now ensconced as part of the National Numismatic Collection in the vaults of the Smithsonian Institution. Luckily for the collectors of Massachusetts notes, another note from this bank was discovered several weeks ago and consigned immediately. While nothing in numismatics can ever be certain, it's highly likely that the appearance of this note will offer the only opportunity for collectors to ever own a note from this bank, which was the first to obtain Red Seals in Massachusetts. PCGS Extremely Fine 40PPQ, a beautifully pen signed wonder note bearing serial number 2 as a bonus.
