Very Rare Bridgton Note - Finest of Four Reported
Bridgton, ME - $5 1902 Plain Back Fr. 600 The Bridgton National
Bank Ch. # (N)9181 PMG Extremely Fine 40 EPQ.This is a beautiful note from an excessively rare Cumberland County bank that was the sole issuer in this small community. Only in business from 1908 until 1926, it issued Third Charter Blue Seals only, just four of which are known today. This $5 is the finest of that quartet and is being publicly offered for the first time. It is a bright and original piece with wonderful color and legible stamped signatures. It is also the first note from this scarce location to make a public appearance since 2012.
