Bethel, ME - $10 1929 Ty. 1 The Bethel National Bank Ch. # 7613
PMG Very Fine 25.A great note from an excessively rare Maine bank and one of just four small size (along with three large) reported from this charter. This was the only note-issuing bank that operated in this remote mountain locale. It had just $9,900 outstanding in both large and small size in 1935. This is a pleasing, well margined example with even wear and solid paper. It is identical in grade to another Type 1 $10 from here that brought $6,000 in our 2023 FUN auction.
