Carlisle, KY - $20 1882 Date Back Fr. 555 The First NB Ch. # 5959The collecting fraternity is fortunate, indeed, that this $20 Second Charter Date Back was put aside years ago by a foresighted bank officer. This pristinely original and deeply embossed example would contend for a higher grade with a bit more generous top margin. This was the sole issuer from this Carlisle County community and, in fact, the only issuing bank in the entire county. In 1935 a scant $820 survived from here. It is unusual to have such a scarce institution represented by a survivor so close to the top end of the condition spectrum. Choice Crisp Uncirculated and a real prize for both the rarity and condition conscious collector.
