Manhattan, KS - $5 1882 Brown Back Fr. 470 The Union NB Ch. # 4008A beautiful serial number 1 $5 Brown Back which is the only serial number 1 $5 Brown Back from this Kansas bank listed in the census. (Two serial number 1 $10 Brown Backs are reported, however, with neither having traded hands since 1996.) PMG has chosen to Net grade this note because of a "minor restoration," but whatever the nature of the "restoration" it appears quite invisible through the holder. What is visible is a well nigh perfectly centered, beautifully printed, vibrantly colored and pen signed serial number 1 $5 Brown Back that is certain to delight its fortunate new owner. Choice Uncirculated 64 Net.
