Lake, IL - $1 Original Fr. 382 The Union Stock Yards NB of Chicago Ch. # 1678
A rarity which, despite its incorporation location of "Lake," was actually located at the Union Stock Yards adjacent to the City of Chicago. This short-lived bank issued only First Charters before disappearing from the scene at the expiration of its charter in 1888. Track & Price notes that the last example to be offered from this institution (an Original Series ace in exactly the same grade as this specimen) fetched $3,737.50 back in 2010.
