National Bank Ch. # (M)3698 PMG Very Fine 30.This bank sports a great title for a Chicago bank, as it takes the name of the fort that was built at the mouth of the Chicago River in 1808. This offering is one of just two examples of this rare type and denomination reported from this issuer. However, it is the only one of the pair available to collectors as the other piece is locked away in the holdings of the San Francisco Fed. It is a bright, well margined note with excellent color and dark printed signatures. Its only flaw is a small hole.
