Description

Chicago, IL - $20 1929 Ty. 1 The Douglass NB Ch. # 12227
This was one of only two Afro-American owned national banks during the note issuing period, taking its name from the famed abolitionist, Frederick Douglass. Kelly reports 10 Small, with this example sporting sound edges and having escaped the pinhole menace. Very Fine.
