Montpelier, ID - $5 1902 Plain Back Fr. 598 The First National
Bank Ch. # (P)7381 PMG Choice Fine 15.This wonderful new discovery is just the fourth note to be reported from the only bank to issue in Bear Lake County. Large notes only were produced, with the bank entering receivership in early 1925. It is the first example to be publicly offered from this rare charter since we auctioned a $20 Plain Back in our September 2001 auction. This $5 exhibits just honest wear and retains pleasing color and bold pen signatures.
