First Ever Public Appearance

Fitzgerald, GA - $20 1902 Date Back Fr. 644 The Third NB Ch. # (S)8966
An excessively rare and very possibly unique example from by far the most difficult to obtain of Fitzgerald's four issuing banks, as this short lived institution was around for only eight years before the receiver arrived to close the doors forever in early 1916. Our records of over 275,000 offerings of National Bank Notes at auction and via fixed price list show no appearances whatever at public sale from this bank, with this example having been ensconced in the Rome collection for the better part of three decades. Fortunately for collectors, it is a high grade specimen with bright colors and strong signatures, a piece certain to delight its lucky new owner, who will now acquire something that no other collector can possess. Very Fine+.
